Q: What if I've never done a photo shoot before, and I'm nervous?
A: Stop. Take a few long breaths. Relax your shoulders. Be yourself.
You don't have to be a model, you don't have to be chatty or too quiet, you don't have to be so serious, and you don't have to be the funniest one in the room.
It can be a little nerve racking to stand in front of a camera and photographer you may not know, trust me it goes both ways! I still get nervous! Those nerves are what keep you on your toes! We can get to know each other and break the ice for a few minutes before we begin your session!
Q: How long does it take to get my photos after our shoot?
A: I will never deliver your photos the next day. Even if I rush home and edit all the photos, the final edit needs time to sit with me. 99% of photographers and artists alike will make changes, both big and small, that they didn't realize it needed before. It's imperative that every photo maintains the highest degree of quality I can deliver. That being said, it usually takes me 3-7 days to deliver photos after your booked session date.
Q: What if I need to reschedule, or cancel our photo shoot?
A: Please provide 48-hour notice if possible.
Life happens- kids get sick, tire goes flat, or maybe the weather took a turn... I am understanding of that and I am absolutely willing to work with you.
If you cancel, your deposit for your session is NON-REFUNDABLE. My time is valuable and if you cancel your booked session, it leaves a hole in my schedule where I could have been shooting for other clients. Your deposit is 50% of your total bill, so make sure you do not double book yourself, or need to cancel for any reason. If you need to reschedule, your deposit will be re-applied to the newly booked session.
Q: What is your shooting/editing style?
A: My photography and editing style blends cinematic elements with a naturalistic touch, creating a distinct aesthetic that feels both intentional and spontaneous. I have a knack for capturing people in a way that highlights their individuality, often using soft, warm lighting to bring out their features and evoke a sense of intimacy. My portraiture has emphasis on relaxed, candid moments that feel genuine rather than posed.
My urban and nature photos showcase an appreciation for both symmetry and texture, with a focus on clean lines and muted colors that give a timeless quality. My editing leans toward a film-inspired look, with desaturated tones and gentle contrasts that enhance the mood without overpowering the scene.
Overall, my style is cohesive yet versatile, combining the artful composition of classic photography with the modern, editorial vibe. I have a thoughtful approach to both the subjects and the environment, resulting in photos that feel curated but not overworked.
Q: What if I don't know how to pose?
A: The best photos happen when you're not overthinking it- or not thinking at all. If you're worried about what to do with yourself, I got you. Yes, I've got lots of fun prompts and great poses, but more importantly, I've got authentic, home-made, Southern hospitality. You'll feel right at home and the nerves will fall off like tender meat on a BBQ rib bone HOOWEE! Sorry, the Mississippi in me got loose there for a second...
Q: What outfit should I wear?
A: Typically, earth tone colors, or subtle patterns show up quite nicely on camera. Avoid flashy or over the top outfits and accessories.
